Daylight Savings is becoming a date in the Chicago scene as important and exciting as Black Wednesday or New Year’s Eve. That’s largely the initiative of one club with a pretty unique take on a club night, at least for America circa 2019.

Smartbar is holding their 3rd annual 23 Hour Party People show, taking place on November 2 2019 – Daylight Savings time when the clocks fall an hour back. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, here are the basics:

  • Smartbar and Metro open up at 7am on Saturday morning November 2
  • They stay open until 5am on Sunday November 3
  • There is a door charge based upon how early you come (and thus stay).

Among the talent this year are James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem (“extended DJ set”), Anthony Rother, Danny Daze, Jason Kendig (sunrise set), DJ Heather, Garrett David, Sassmouth, Olin, T. Mixwell and, well, a cast of more than a dozen. Here are the set times:
